ViewLux Fence Installation: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
We stock and install ViewLux-compatible fence panels, posts, and hardware across Los Angeles, with most complete fence installations running $4,130 to $10,620 depending on linear footage, post depth, and site access. Most owners discover a failed ViewLux part the hard way: a panel sags after a windstorm, a gate latch stops catching, or a post shifts because water got into the footing. You already own the product. What you need now is the right replacement part matched to your exact ViewLux series and an installer who won’t treat it like a generic vinyl fence job.
This page covers which ViewLux models we service, what fails first in Southern California’s climate, what a replacement actually costs in Los Angeles, and whether you can handle the fix yourself. Mason Remodeling is an independent contractor, not a ViewLux dealer or affiliate. We just know these fence systems well enough to fix them correctly the first time.
Which ViewLux Models This Applies To

ViewLux manufactures vinyl and composite fence systems in a few distinct series, and the parts are not as interchangeable as owners assume. The most common lines we work on in Los Angeles are the ViewLux privacy fence, semi-privacy, and rail-style series, each using a specific post profile and panel routing. The compatibility gotcha: ViewLux privacy panels and picket panels use different bottom rail channels, so a panel ordered from a generic retailer will not seat correctly even if the nominal width matches.
How to identify what you have: look for a raised manufacturer code on the inside face of a post or on the underside of a top rail. Most ViewLux posts from 2015 onward carry a small molded stamp with the series number. If you can’t find one, measure the wall thickness of the post. Entry-level ViewLux posts run about 0.125 inches thick; the heavier commercial-grade series runs 0.150 to 0.165 inches. That measurement tells us which replacement post to order before we ever dig out the old one.
We stock genuine OEM ViewLux parts for the current production series, plus quality aftermarket equivalents for discontinued profiles that ViewLux no longer ships. For most Los Angeles homes, aftermarket panels made from the same ASA-capped vinyl perform identically and cost 20 to 30 percent less. We’ll tell you which makes sense for your fence, not whichever one earns us a bigger margin. We also maintain part sourcing for other brands we regularly install alongside fence work, including KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone, so one call often solves multiple outdoor projects.

Signs Your ViewLux Fence Installation Is Failing
- Post lean after rain. This is the number one failure we see in Los Angeles, especially in hillside neighborhoods like Mount Washington and El Sereno. Water seeps into the post footing, erodes the concrete bond, and the post starts to drift. The panel itself is usually fine; the footing is the problem.
- Panel sag at the mid-span. ViewLux privacy panels carry real weight, and over time the bottom rail can bow if the posts were set too far apart at the original install. We see this most often on fences where a previous installer stretched post spacing past six feet to save material.
- Gate latch misalignment. The gate post shifts a few degrees, the latch stop no longer lines up, and suddenly the gate won’t close from the outside. It’s rarely a broken latch. It’s a post that moved.
- Discoloration or chalkiness on sun-facing panels. Los Angeles UV exposure is brutal on vinyl. Panels without ASA cap layer protection will chalk and fade within five to seven years. If your panels are turning white at the fence line while the posts still hold color, the panel substrate is breaking down.
- Cracks at the top rail junction. Thermal expansion in Los Angeles heat cycles, especially in the Valley and Inland-adjacent neighborhoods, stresses the corners where rails meet posts. Small hairline cracks there grow fast once they start.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a ViewLux fence installation or panel replacement in Los Angeles, most projects fall between $4,130 and $10,620. The spread comes down to three things: linear footage, whether we are setting new posts or reusing existing ones, and access. A 50-foot run with new posts, new panels, and a single gate will land near the middle of that range in most Los Angeles neighborhoods; a 150-foot replacement with a sloping grade in Baldwin Hills or Silver Lake pushes toward the top.
What’s included in our price: removal and disposal of failed panels and posts, new post footings where needed, OEM or matched aftermarket ViewLux-compatible parts, gate hardware alignment, and cleanup. What’s never included: surprise change orders. Mason Remodeling delivers a written price before any work begins, on this type of job and every other. You’ll know the full number before we touch a shovel. Every completed fence installation is covered by our written guarantee for 365 days from the completion date. If something fails within that year, we return and make it right at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
Some ViewLux fence work is genuinely within reach for a capable homeowner. Replacing a single blown-out panel between two solid posts is a Saturday job if you have the right panel profile and a helper for the lift. Replacing a gate latch or hinge hardware is also straightforward, and we’ll gladly tell you which part number to buy even if you decide to do it yourself.
What goes wrong in DIY, and why most Los Angeles owners eventually call us: post replacement. Setting a new post properly means digging below the frost line, which in Los Angeles means at least two feet and deeper on slopes, then setting the post in concrete with proper drainage. Get it wrong and you will be back out there in two years with the same lean. The other common DIY failure is ordering a panel that looks right online but has the wrong rail channel for your ViewLux series. You’ll know within an hour of receiving it that it won’t seat.
If the job is posts, footings, or more than two panels, call (803) 680-2547 before you buy anything. A quick conversation can save you the freight charge on parts you can’t use.
FAQs

Properly installed ViewLux fences in Los Angeles typically last 20 to 30 years for the posts and rails, with panels lasting 15 to 25 years depending on sun exposure and whether the panel has an ASA cap layer. Fences on west-facing slopes in the Valley will age noticeably faster than shaded runs near the coast. Call (803) 680-2547 and we can tell you whether your fence is aging normally or has a fixable issue.
Sometimes, yes. If the post itself is not cracked and the lean is under about five degrees, we can often straighten and re-secure it by removing the soil around the footing, correcting alignment, and re-packing with structural foam or concrete. If the post is cracked or the lean is advanced, replacement is the honest answer. Estimates are free; call (803) 680-2547 and we’ll assess it.
A single panel replacement takes under two hours on site. A full fence installation of 100 linear feet or more typically takes two to three days in Los Angeles, including post setting, curing time for footings, panel installation, and gate adjustment. We’ll give you a clear timeline in your written estimate before work begins.
We keep common ViewLux-compatible panels, posts, rail channels, and gate hardware on our trucks for the current production series. For discontinued profiles or unusual configurations, we source parts before your scheduled install date so we are not making you wait on a freight truck. If you send us a photo of the failed part before we arrive, we can usually confirm the match same day.
Know who’s coming, know what it costs, know it’s backed up – everything else is just noise. If your ViewLux fence is sagging, leaning, or cracked somewhere in Los Angeles, call Mason Remodeling at (803) 680-2547 to schedule your free estimate. You’ll get a live person on the line, not a call tree, and a written price before any work starts.
