"Every job I take on, I treat it like it's my own home."

How Mason Remodeling Was Born

Isaac Pruett started Mason Remodeling in 2004 after watching a homeowner across town pay for a kitchen remodel that never got finished. The contractor had torn out the cabinets, taken a deposit, and disappeared. When the homeowner called other companies for help, most wouldn’t touch it. Nobody wanted to inherit someone else’s mess.

Isaac couldn’t stop thinking about that house. The family was washing dishes in a bathroom sink with two young kids at home. So he put together a small crew, finished the job at cost, and realized something that stuck with him: the construction industry has a trust problem that starts long before the first hammer swings. People don’t fear the work. They fear the worker showing up late, quoting one price and billing another, or vanishing halfway through.

That unfinished kitchen became the reason Mason Remodeling exists. From day one, the promise was simple: put the price in writing before any work starts, show up when you say you will, and treat someone’s home like you’d treat your own. That promise started in one city and now guides every location that carries the Mason Remodeling name.

Isaac Pruett’s Personal Connection to the Construction Trade

Isaac didn’t grow up planning to run a construction company. He grew up around people who worked with their hands and took pride in what they built. The first real exposure came when he was young, spending summers on job sites where the smell of fresh-cut lumber and drywall dust hung in the air. There was something satisfying about watching a pile of materials turn into a room someone would live in.

What drew him in wasn’t just the building. It was the moment of handing a finished space back to a homeowner. That look when someone walks into a kitchen they’d been dreaming about for years, or steps into a bathroom that finally works for their family. That moment is personal. It’s not about the tile or the cabinets. It’s about what the space means to the people living in it.

Over more than a decade of running jobs, Isaac learned to listen first and build second. A remodel isn’t just a floor plan. It’s the morning routine, the holiday cooking, the kids’ bath time, the aging parent moving in. When a homeowner explains what isn’t working in their home, he hears the story behind it. That’s the part of the job that gets him out of bed. If he weren’t doing this, he’d still be building something with his hands, but it wouldn’t have the same meaning.

He’s not the kind of owner who sits behind a desk all day. He’s walked the floors, carried the materials, and stood in enough homes to know that the little things matter: covering the floors, cleaning up at the end of the day, explaining a change order before it happens. That’s the work. That’s what “a crew you welcome in” actually means.

Meet Isaac Pruett – The Person Behind Every Job

Isaac Pruett is the Owner and Founder of Mason Remodeling. He’s spent his entire career in residential construction, working his way through framing, finish carpentry, kitchen and bath remodels, and full-home renovations. He’s state-licensed and holds the credentials required to operate in every market where Mason Remodeling works.

He’s not a franchise operator. He’s a builder who set the standard and insists that every location meet it. When a homeowner calls, they get connected to a local team that works to the same written-price, badge-at-the-door standard that Isaac established on day one.

Outside of work, Isaac is a quiet perfectionist. He restores old furniture, not because it’s faster than buying new, but because he likes the honesty of a solid piece brought back to life. That same patience shows up in how he runs the company: do it right, explain it clearly, and stand behind it when it’s done. If you hire Mason Remodeling, you get that commitment on every job.

Our Promise to Homeowners

The Threshold Standard is the backbone of this company. It’s not a slogan. It’s a set of rules every location follows, and it exists because opening your door to a stranger is a real worry. Here’s what that looks like in practice:

  • Background-check and identity-verify every technician. Before anyone shows up at your door, we know who they are and we’re willing to stand behind them.
  • Send the technician’s name and photo before the visit. You shouldn’t have to guess who’s knocking. You’ll get a notification with exactly who to expect.
  • Show a photo ID badge at the door, every time. No badge, no entry. That’s the rule for every technician.
  • Arrive in a clean, marked uniform. You should be able to tell who’s supposed to be there the second you open the door.
  • Put the price in writing before any work starts. No vague estimates. No surprises. A written price, and if the scope changes, a written change order before the work continues.

Every technician working under the Mason Remodeling name is required to hold the license and insurance their state requires. That’s a requirement, not a perk.

And here’s the guarantee that ties it all together: every Threshold technician is background-checked, identity-verified, photo-badged, and sent to you by name and photo before the visit. If anyone arrives who you were not told to expect, that visit is on us and we make it right.

Our Credentials

Mason Remodeling operates under a clear set of professional standards across every market we serve:

  • State-licensed. Every location maintains the licensing required by the state it operates in. Licensing means the team accountable for your job has met the state’s minimum standards for construction work.
  • Insured and bonded. Every location carries the insurance and bonding its state requires. That protects you and your home during the project.
  • Experience that shows up in the work. Isaac has spent more than a decade in the trades, and the local teams working under the Mason Remodeling name are experienced professionals who’ve proven they can meet the Threshold Standard.
  • A reputation built one job at a time. We don’t chase volume. We chase doing the job right, and the word-of-mouth that comes from it.

Why do these matter to a homeowner? Because when someone is working inside your walls, you need more than a handshake. You need proof that they’re qualified, that they’re who they say they are, and that there’s a standard of accountability behind the work.

Rooted in the Communities We Serve

Threshold Group doesn’t pretend to be from every town. Each Mason Remodeling location is an independent local business that agreed to work to a higher standard. The name Mason comes from the old building trade: a mason is a builder who works in stone, and the word has meant careful, lasting building for centuries. That’s what we want the name to mean in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Miami, and every city where our locations work. Kitchens, baths, and whole homes, by a crew you welcome in.

Why the Name Matters

A mason is a builder who works in stone. Stone is slow, deliberate, and permanent. It doesn’t get rushed. It doesn’t fall apart. The name has carried that meaning for centuries, and it’s the spirit behind everything we do. A kitchen remodel might not be stone, but the principle is the same: build it to last, build it right, and build it with care.
