Grohe Driveway & Pavers: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
Grohe driveway and paver parts in Los Angeles are typically matched and installed for $180 – $540 depending on the specific component, with full paver driveway installation running $8,260 – $21,240. Most part replacements are completed same-day once the model number is confirmed. The way homeowners usually find us is mid-project: a Grohe-branded drain channel, channel grate, or edging profile has cracked, a channel body has come loose from the concrete, or the existing paver system was built around Grohe drainage and the homeowner needs a replacement part that actually fits the original channel width. We stock the common Grohe channel drain components on our trucks, and we know how to match the rest.
Which Grohe Models This Applies To

Grohe makes two product families relevant to driveway and paver work in Los Angeles: the Grohe Lineare channel drain series (used where pavers meet a garage apron or where a driveway slopes toward the house) and the Grohe QuickFix drainage grates and height-adjustable frames that sit flush with paver surfaces. The compatibility gotcha most Los Angeles homeowners hit is channel width. The Lineare line comes in multiple internal widths, and a grate from a 90mm channel will not seat correctly in a 70mm body. You need to measure the internal channel opening in millimeters before ordering anything. The model number is stamped on the underside of the grate or along the inside wall of the channel body. If the stamp is worn off, bring us a photo and a width measurement and we can identify it in minutes.
For OEM versus aftermarket: Grohe stainless steel grates are proprietary to their channel profiles. Aftermarket grates exist for some Lineare widths, but we have seen too many that rattle, bow under a car’s weight, or sit 2mm proud of the paver surface. On this part, we recommend OEM. For non-Grohe pavers and hardscaping, we install Belgard, Unilock, and Techo-Bloc products, and we also handle parts for KraftMaid cabinetry and Cambria and Silestone surfaces in the same home. Mason Remodeling is an independent service provider and is not affiliated with Grohe.

Signs Your Grohe Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Water pools at the garage door instead of entering the channel. The channel is clogged or the internal slope was never set correctly. In Los Angeles, fine silt from our dry months works its way into the channel and hardens after the first winter rain, blocking flow.
- The grate clanks or shifts when a car drives over it. The locking tabs on the grate or the height-adjustable frame have worn or been chipped by paver settlement. A moving grate is a trip hazard and will only get worse.
- Pavers around the channel are sinking or cracked. The channel body has separated from the concrete encasement, and the pavers beside it are carrying load they were never meant to carry. This is the most common full-replacement scenario we see in LA driveways.
- You see rust staining on the concrete below the grate. A low-grade aftermarket grate was installed at some point. Grohe’s stainless components should not rust in Los Angeles’s climate, so staining is a strong signal the part was substituted.
- The channel body has pulled away from the driveway slab, leaving a visible gap. Expansion and contraction from LA’s heat cycles can eventually break the seal between the channel and the concrete. Once the gap opens, water gets underneath and accelerates the failure.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a Grohe channel drain part replacement in Los Angeles, expect $180 – $540 installed. A grate-only swap sits at the low end. Replacing the channel body and resetting the surrounding pavers lands at the high end. If the damage extends beyond the channel, full paver driveway installation on a typical Los Angeles two-car driveway runs $8,260 – $21,240, and paver patio installation runs $4,130 – $12,980.
Every Grohe part replacement includes the part, labor, removal of the old component, and a written price before any work starts. No verbal estimate that grows on the final bill. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the work: if the part or installation fails within 365 days from the completion date, we make it right at no cost to the homeowner.
DIY or Call Us?
Lifting a grate and clearing out leaves and silt is safe for any homeowner. Replacing a grate is also doable if you have the exact model number matched. Where DIY goes wrong on this part is when the channel body has separated or the pavers around it are moving. Cutting out an embedded channel drain requires a concrete saw, and setting a new channel to the correct slope before re-laying pavers is work where the learning curve is measured in ruined driveways, not just wasted parts. We have fixed enough DIY attempts to say this plainly: if the channel body moves at all, call us at (803) 680-2547 before you cut. A free estimate costs you nothing and takes one visit.
FAQs

A properly installed Grohe stainless channel drain typically lasts 15 – 25 years in Los Angeles’s climate. The channel body can outlast the driveway if the concrete encasement is solid and the slope is correct. The most common premature failure we see is from paver settlement pulling the channel apart, not from the Grohe parts themselves wearing out. Call (803) 680-2547 if your channel is separating from the concrete, and we can tell you whether it is a repair or replacement before you spend anything.
Small cracks in the channel body can sometimes be sealed with an epoxy patch, but any crack that has opened more than 1mm or allowed the channel to shift cannot be reliably repaired. A patched channel that moves under paver load will fail again, usually within a season. If the grate is intact but the channel body is cracked, replacement is the honest answer. Call (803) 680-2547 for a free estimate and we will tell you which side of that line you are on.
A grate-only replacement takes under an hour. A full channel body replacement with paver reset takes one day for most Los Angeles driveways. Concrete curing time may add a day before you can drive over it. We give you a written timeline as part of the written price, before any work starts.
We stock the most common Grohe Lineare grates and channel bodies on our trucks and can usually match the part on the first visit. For less common widths or the QuickFix adjustable frames, we source the part and return to install it, usually within a few days. Know who’s coming, know what it costs, know it’s backed up, everything else is just noise.
