Why Los Angeles Homeowners Choose Cambria Construction
Mason Remodeling provides independent Cambria construction, fabrication, and Cambria repair in Los Angeles, and we have worked with Cambria quartz for over a decade. We are not an authorized Cambria dealer or installer, and we’ll say that up front. What we are is a Los Angeles fabrication shop that runs its own CNC saw and water-fed polishing equipment, sources full slabs from Cambria distributors, and knows which Cambria designs hold up in this market, and which ones come back with problems when the install was rushed. If you’re looking at a Cambria countertop that’s chipped, scorched, seamed badly, or cracked at the sink, call (803) 680-2547 and we’ll tell you what’s actually wrong and what it costs to make it right.
Cambria is a Minnesota company, and its quartz is engineered, not quarried. The slabs are roughly 93% natural quartz bound with resin and pigments, and the brand has built its name on designs that read like natural stone without the sealing and staining issues that come with marble. In Los Angeles, that matters because our kitchens get abused: direct sun through west-facing windows, hard water from LADWP lines, and a lot of cooking on surfaces that get treated like furniture. Cambria’s nonporous surface handles most of that. What it doesn’t handle is careless fabrication, and that’s the gap we fill. We have templated, cut, seamed, and polished Cambria in kitchens and baths from the Valley to the Westside, and we know this product at the slab level, not from a brochure.
Key takeaways:
- We’re an independent Cambria service provider, not an authorized Cambria dealer
- We fabricate from full Cambria slabs, never lookalike quartz
- Repairs in place where the slab is sound; replacement only when it’s structural
- Written price before any work starts, every project, no exceptions
- Every crew member arrives in uniform, with a photo ID badge, introduced by name and photo before the visit
Why Trust Mason Remodeling for Your Cambria Construction?

Trust, in this line of work, comes down to two things: who shows up at your door and whether they actually know what they’re doing once they’re inside. We handle both. Every Mason Remodeling technician is background-checked and identity-verified under the Threshold Standard, and before anyone arrives you’ll have their name and photo. At the door they’ll be wearing a clean marked uniform and a photo ID badge. That’s not a courtesy. It’s how we’ve operated since 2004 as part of the Threshold Group family of home-service companies.
What that technician knows about Cambria is the reason you’re reading this page. Cambria is not interchangeable with other quartz. The resin content, the way the pigments are dispersed, and the minimum slab thickness for a given edge profile all change how you cut, seam, and polish it. Our owner, Isaac Pruett, grew up in the Sylmar end of the San Fernando Valley, went through the construction technology program at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, and has spent the better part of two decades in Los Angeles kitchens, including gut-outs where the old countertop came out in pieces. He still checks the trim work and the seam lines on every job before he signs off. We treat a Cambria install the way he was taught to treat finish carpentry: if the edge isn’t clean, the job isn’t done.
Established as part of the Threshold Group family of companies in 2004, Mason Remodeling has spent over twenty years earning a reputation in Los Angeles for showing up when we say we will and leaving a jobsite cleaner than we found it. With Cambria specifically, we’ve earned our knowledge the hard way: recutting slabs that other fabricators seamed in the wrong place, re-shimming cabinets that flexed under heavy tops, and polishing out chips down to a pre-cat finish. We know what Cambria can and can’t take, and we won’t pretend otherwise.
Styles & brands we work with

Common Cambria Construction Problems We Fix in Los Angeles
- Edge chipping on Cambria ‘Britannica’ and ‘Whitehall’ at sink and dishwasher cutouts. These are high-vein, high-contrast designs with a heavier resin binder near the surface pigment. When a slab is seamed at a cutout and left with an unsupported overhang, the edge flexes, and the resin gives way in small, sharp chips. We see it in kitchens where the fabricator cut first and asked questions later. Fix: we remove the section, add support rail at the overhang, and re-cut a matched edge.
- Heat scorching and faint yellowing on light Cambria designs like ‘Torquay’. Cambria is heat-resistant, not heat-proof. A hot pan or slow cooker set directly on the surface can transfer enough heat to discolor the resin, especially on whites and warm creams. This isn’t a manufacturing defect. It’s a use error that no manufacturer covers, and we’re straight with people about that. We can sometimes sand and re-polish a shallow scorch. A deep burn means slab section replacement.
- Seam shadowing and adhesive haze on large-format runs. When a fabricator doesn’t grain-match at the seam or uses a mismatched knife-grade adhesive, the seam line catches the light differently and shows as a shadow. On big islands and long runs, that’s the first thing you notice. We match adhesive color and viscosity to the slab lot, and we align the veining direction across the seam before any cut is made. That’s why our seams land behind the faucet line and disappear.
- Hairline cracks radiating from undermount sink clips. Older Los Angeles homes, especially 1920s and 1930s bungalows, have floors and cabinets that have settled out of level. When an undermount sink is clipped to a Cambria slab that’s sitting on unshimmed cabinets, the clips become stress points, and cracks radiate outward from them. We shim the cabinets to level before any slab goes down. On repair jobs, we’ll pull the sink, repair or replace the slab section, and reset everything with the proper clip torque and silicone bed.
- Cloudy or etched finishes on dark Cambria designs like ‘Berwyn’. ‘Berwyn’ carries a heavily veined, near-black field that shows every bit of fabricator dust, adhesive smear, and water spotting. If the original install didn’t get a final water-fed polish and a proper cleaner wipedown, the surface looks dull and hazy within weeks. This is the easiest problem to fix correctly, and the easiest to make worse with the wrong polish. We use a water-fed polishing head and Cambria’s recommended cleaner, never abrasive pads or acid-based polishes.
Cambria Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach

One thing we want clear: for Cambria slabs, we are OEM-only. We source full slabs from authorized Cambria distributors, and we never substitute a lookalike quartz on a callback. If your existing top is Cambria ‘Britannica’, the repair section we cut is ‘Britannica’, same lot-match, same thickness, same finish. Anything less looks wrong, and you’ll see it every time you walk into the kitchen. For the components that surround the stone (sinks, faucets, underlayment, and mounting hardware), we specify quality aftermarket brands like Delta, Kohler, and Toto. That’s deliberate. Cambria’s warranty covers the stone slab, not the plumbing, and a good aftermarket faucet from Kohler will outlast the original in Los Angeles hard-water conditions. The repair-versus-replace call is not something we make lightly, because replacing a Cambria section is expensive and disruptive. If the slab is structurally sound, we repair in place: edge chips get epoxy fill and polish, shallow scorches get sanded, seams get re-knifed. If a crack crosses a cutout, like the sink or the cooktop, the slab is compromised and the section needs to come out. If the cabinets under the slab are not level and supporting the stone evenly, we fix the cabinets first, because no repair on top will hold. Cost-wise, in-place repair usually runs from a few hundred dollars up to about eight hundred, while section replacement starts in the low thousands and goes up from there depending on slab size and design. Call (803) 680-2547 and describe what you’re seeing; we’ll tell you honestly which path you’re on.
Our Cambria Service Process – Step by Step
- 1
Diagnosis. A Mason Remodeling technician comes to your home at the scheduled time, in uniform, with a photo ID badge you already saw before they arrived. We inspect the slab, the cabinets under it, the seams, the cutouts, and the plumbing underneath. We take photos, write notes, and take measurements. You get a written diagnosis with photos and a line-item explanation of what’s wrong.
- 2
Written price, before any work starts. We send a written quote that itemizes materials, labor, slab sourcing, fabrication, and finish work. This arrives before you approve anything. No verbal estimates, no change orders that show up on the final bill. If the scope changes during the job, you approve a written change order before we touch it.
- 3
Repair or fabrication. For repairs, we handle edge work, seam work, and polish in place. For fabrication, we template your kitchen or bath ourselves, source the Cambria slab from an authorized distributor, and do the cutting, seaming, and edging on our own CNC saw with water-fed polishing. Every cut is made with the vein direction and the seam placement planned first.
- 4
Installation and test. We level and shim the cabinets, set the slab, place the sink and fixtures, and run water through everything before we leave. We check the seams under natural and artificial light, wipe the stone down, and walk you through what was done and why.
- 5
Warranty, plain and simple. Every completed project is covered by a written guarantee with clearly stated terms, including what’s covered, what’s excluded, and for how long. And under the 365-Day Done Right Promise, if the work isn’t right within a year of completion, we make it right at no cost to you. The Threshold Standard applies to every visit, every time.

AfterCambria Products We Service & Install in Los Angeles
We work with the full span of the Cambria line, and in Los Angeles the patterns we see most often are ‘Britannica’, ‘Torquay’, ‘Whitehall’, and ‘Berwyn’. Each one has its own character. ‘Britannica’ carries a heavy charcoal and cream vein that reads almost marble-like, but it’s unforgiving if the seam doesn’t land right. ‘Torquay’ is a warm white that needs careful heat management. ‘Whitehall’ is a cleaner white with a tighter vein, popular in Westside kitchens going for a crisp look. ‘Berwyn’ is near-black with dramatic white veining, and it rewards a disciplined fabricator. We template, cut, seam, and install all of these, plus Cambria’s seasonal and specialty designs as they come through the distributor network, and we also provide Cambria service in Glendale. We also fabricate and install quartz and granite countertops beyond Cambria for homeowners who want more options in one project.
We Also Service These Brands
Mason Remodeling is not a single-brand shop. We build kitchens and baths across Los Angeles with cabinetry from KraftMaid and Wellborn, surfaces from Silestone and Caesarstone alongside Cambria, and fixtures from Kohler, Moen, Toto, and Grohe. If you’re planning a kitchen or bath with multiple material lines, we can quote and coordinate the entire scope under one written price, one project plan, and one crew you already know by name.
FAQs – Cambria Construction Service in Los Angeles

Is Mason Remodeling authorized by Cambria?
No, we are an independent Cambria service provider, and we’ll tell you that in the first conversation. We are not an authorized Cambria dealer or installer, and we don’t imply that we are. What we are is an independent Los Angeles fabricator with more than ten years of hands-on experience with Cambria slabs, sourced from authorized Cambria distributors, and cut and polished on our own CNC equipment. Independence matters: it means we work for you, not for the manufacturer’s warranty department.
Do you use genuine Cambria/OEM parts and slabs?
Yes. For any Cambria top, slab section, or repair piece, we source from authorized Cambria distributors only. We don’t substitute lookalike quartz, ever. For the plumbing and mounting components around the stone, we specify quality aftermarket brands including Delta, Kohler, and Toto, because Cambria’s warranty covers the stone, not the sink or the faucet. For an exact material quote on your project, call (803) 680-2547 and ask for a written line-item estimate.
How long does Cambria construction or service take in Los Angeles?
An in-place repair, like a chip fill or a seam re-knife, is usually a single visit of an hour or two. A full countertop replacement, from templating to slab delivery to fabrication to install, typically runs one to two weeks depending on slab availability and the size of the job. We’ll give you a written timeline with the quote and tell you immediately if anything changes. For an honest schedule on your project, call (803) 680-2547.
Can you match a Cambria backsplash slab to my existing Cambria countertop years later?
Yes, with one important caveat. The slab lot matters. Cambria’s designs shift slightly from lot to lot, and if your existing countertop is five or six years old, the new slab from a current lot may not match perfectly. We’ll ask you for your original slab lot number, or we’ll inspect the stone in person and order from the distributor with the closest available match. For some designs we can source a remnant from a matching lot. Call (803) 680-2547 and we’ll tell you what’s actually possible for your design.
My Cambria counter has a chip on the edge. Can it be repaired, or does the whole slab need to come out?
Almost always, an edge chip is repairable in place. We fill the chip with a color-matched knife-grade adhesive, let it cure, and polish the repair back to a pre-cat finish that blends into the surrounding edge. A full slab replacement is only necessary when a crack crosses a cutout, like the sink or cooktop, or when the slab is structurally compromised. For the honest answer on your chip, call (803) 680-2547 and describe what you’re seeing.
How much does Cambria construction cost in Los Angeles?
In Los Angeles and Cambria service in Long Beach, countertop installation typically runs $2,360 to $7,670, kitchen island installation $3,540 to $11,800, and a backsplash $945 to $2,950. A full kitchen remodel with Cambria surfaces starts around $16,520 and goes up from there depending on cabinetry, layout, and scope. These are written, line-item ranges, not verbal ballparks. For an exact quote on your project, call (803) 680-2547. Estimates are free.
