Caesarstone Driveway & Pavers: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
If your Caesarstone driveway or paver surface has cracked, shifted, or started separating at the joints, here’s what you need to know: we stock and install Caesarstone-compatible driveway pavers and hardscape components across Los Angeles, with typical installed paver driveway work running $8,260 to $21,240 depending on square footage and site prep. Most paver repairs and partial replacements can be scheduled within the week, and we’ll give you a written price before any material gets ordered.
The way most Los Angeles homeowners discover a problem isn’t dramatic. It’s a slight dip near the garage apron where the car settles. It’s a paver that rocks underfoot after a rain. It’s efflorescence, that white chalky film that shows up where moisture is moving through the stone. Caesarstone makes a quality product, but Southern California’s soil movement, hard water, and UV exposure work on every hardscape eventually. The good news is that most failures are repairable without tearing out the whole driveway.
Mason Remodeling is an independent service provider, not affiliated with Caesarstone. We work with their pavers and hardscape systems because they hold up well in our climate when installed correctly, and because our crews know exactly how their specs differ from other stone lines.
Which Caesarstone Models This Applies To

Caesarstone’s outdoor line covers several paver and slab formats, and the compatibility question matters more than most homeowners expect. The critical thing to check is the paver thickness. Caesarstone outdoor pavers typically run 20mm (about 3/4 inch) for pedestrian areas and 30mm (about 1 1/8 inch) for driveway-rated applications. A paver rated for a walkway will crack under vehicle weight if someone installs it on a drive lane, and we’ve seen that happen more times than we can count in Los Angeles, especially in hillside neighborhoods like Mount Washington and Silver Lake where driveways carry steeper grades and more stress.
To identify your exact paver, look for the lot code stamped on the underside or edge of a loose piece. Caesarstone outdoor products in the current US market fall mainly under their “Outdoor” collection, with finishes like Natural, Concrete, and Rough. The older “Pebble” and “Smooth” finishes still exist on plenty of Los Angeles patios and drives from installs done 10 to 15 years back.
For replacement, you have two paths: OEM Caesarstone pavers matched from current production, or a quality aftermarket paver with a compatible color and thickness. OEM matching is the safer bet when the existing stone is less than five years old, because dye lots are still close. On older installs, the original color has faded enough that even a perfect OEM match will stand out, and a well-chosen aftermarket stone can blend better. We’ll bring samples to your site before you commit, and we’ll tell you honestly which direction will look right.

Signs Your Caesarstone Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Rocking or shifting pavers underfoot. This usually means the bedding layer under the paver has washed out or compacted unevenly. In Los Angeles, this shows up most often after heavy rain, when water finds its way under the edge of the driveway and erodes the sand.
- Cracks running through multiple pavers in a line. A crack that crosses several stones in a straight path usually points to a base failure underneath, not a material defect. The pavers are only as stable as what’s beneath them.
- White chalky film on the surface. Efflorescence is mineral salts wicking up through the stone with moisture. It’s common on Los Angeles hardscapes, especially in coastal areas like Playa del Rey where salt air adds to the mix. It’s treatable, but it’s a sign moisture is moving through the paver.
- Sunken sections near the edges or garage apron. This is usually base erosion at the perimeter. Water follows the edge of the driveway, washes out the compacted base, and the paver drops. We see this constantly in the San Fernando Valley, where clay soil expands and contracts through the seasons.
- Joint sand disappearing or weeds growing through. Joint sand is the friction that locks pavers together. When it washes out, the pavers start moving against each other, and that movement chips edges over time. Weeds are the visible symptom; the real issue is the lost interlock.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For Los Angeles homeowners, a full paver driveway installation lands between $8,260 and $21,240. A partial repair, like re-bedding a sunken section or replacing a dozen cracked pavers, typically runs $590 to $2,360 depending on access and the size of the affected area. Driveway sealing for Caesarstone pavers runs $295 to $825 and should be done every three to five years in our climate.
What drives the price? Three things mainly: square footage, the condition of the existing base, and access to the site. A flat driveway in Van Nuys with easy truck access is a different job than a steep hillside drive in Echo Park where everything has to be hand-carried. We write the price before work starts, and it includes demolition of the failed area, base repair or replacement, the pavers themselves, joint sand, and cleanup. If we find a base issue we didn’t expect once we open it up, we stop, show you what we found, and give you a written number before we continue. No surprise invoice at the end.
Every Mason Remodeling hardscape job carries our written guarantee, and our 365-Day Done Right Promise applies: if something isn’t right within a year of completion, we make it right at no cost to you.
DIY or Call Us?
There’s one piece a homeowner can safely check on their own: the perimeter. Walk the edge of your driveway and look for gaps where water can get under the pavers. If you see erosion or missing joint sand, that’s worth calling about, because it’s the early warning sign for bigger movement later.
What we don’t recommend is pulling up pavers yourself to “take a look.” Pavers lock together under tension once they’re compacted. Pop one out and you’ve broken the interlock, and if the base underneath is already compromised, you’ve just made the repair bigger. The same goes for sealing. Applying the wrong sealer, or sealing over trapped moisture, will cloud the stone and create a problem that costs more to fix than the seal job itself. This is not a high-danger repair like high-tension springs or electrical work, but it’s one where the mess is easier to make than to undo. Call us at (803) 680-2547 and we’ll send someone who can tell you what’s actually happening under your driveway, not just what it looks like from the surface.
FAQs

A properly installed Caesarstone paver driveway in Los Angeles should last 25 to 40 years, with the base failing long before the stone itself does. The pavers themselves are extremely durable; it’s the bedding and base layers, plus your soil conditions, that determine lifespan. Call (803) 680-2547 if you want us to assess the base under your existing driveway, not just the surface.
A hairline surface crack can sometimes be stabilized, but a paver that has cracked through its full thickness needs replacement. Once a paver loses structural integrity, it transfers load unevenly to the pavers around it, and you’ll chase cracks across the driveway. Replacing individual pavers is usually a smaller job than people expect, and we’ll give you a written price before we order material.
A typical partial repair, like re-bedding a sunken section or replacing a run of cracked pavers, takes one to two days on site. A full driveway replacement in Los Angeles usually runs four to seven working days depending on square footage and access. You’ll get a clear schedule in writing before we start, and we’ll tell you what to expect for vehicle access during the work.
We stock the most common Caesarstone outdoor paver formats and colors on our trucks and in our Los Angeles yard, so many repairs can happen same-day once we’ve assessed the site. Less common finishes and colors may need to be ordered, which typically adds three to five days. We’ll bring samples to you before you commit, so you see exactly what’s going in. Our material partnerships also include KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone for projects where hardscape work overlaps with kitchen or bath surfaces.
