Ameristar Construction in Miami, CA | Mason Remodeling

We provide independent Ameristar sales & service across Miami, with crews that have installed and refaced hundreds of Ameristar cabinet lines in condos and single-family homes throughout the area. What makes our Ameristar work here different is simple: we know how Miami’s humidity and salt air attack Thermofoil doors and MDF cabinet boxes, and we plan accordingly. Why Miami Residents Choose Us for Ameristar Service

A remodeled laundry and mudroom with a bench, cubbies and painted cabinets

Ameristar is one of the most common cabinet lines in South Florida mid-market kitchens, and our crews have worked on enough of these jobs to spot a failing hinge or a starting delamination from across the room. We are not manufacturer-affiliated or an authorized Ameristar dealer. We are an independent service provider, which means we answer to you, not to a brand rep. Isaac Pruett grew up in the Sylmar end of the San Fernando Valley, where half the neighborhood spent weekends fixing something the last guy did wrong. He attended the construction technology program at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College and has spent the better part of two decades remodeling homes across Los Angeles. His dad was a finish carpenter, so trim work still gets checked twice before any job is called done. That standard applies to every Miami service area job we take on, Ameristar or otherwise.

When you book with us, you know exactly who is coming. Every crew member is background-checked, identity-verified, and arrives in a clean marked uniform with a photo ID badge at the door. You receive the technician’s name and photo before the visit. That is the Threshold Standard, and it is not optional on any job.

Common Ameristar Construction Problems We Solve in Miami

  • Thermofoil door delamination. Miami’s year-round humidity and near-coastal salt air cause the laminate skin on Ameristar Thermofoil doors to peel away from the MDF core, usually starting at edges and hinge points. We see it most often on raised-panel doors in kitchens that cycle between AC and open windows.
  • MDF box swelling at the toe kick and under sinks. Moisture wicking up from slab floors during rainy season gets into the particleboard panels on lower Ameristar cabinets. Under-sink bases and dishwasher-adjacent boxes are the first to go. Swollen boxes usually need replacement, not repair.
  • Warped or sagging cabinet doors. Ameristar’s standard hinges and particleboard boxes shift after repeated humidity cycling. Doors start to droop along the face frame, rub against each other, or fail to close flush. Some can be realigned. Many need new hinges or door fronts.
  • Soft-close and drawer-glide failure. The OEM runners on older Ameristar units corrode and lose tension in humid Miami kitchens. Drawer fronts stick, drop off track, or slam shut. We replace them with steel full-extension glides when OEM parts are discontinued.
  • Peeling laminate on slab-style doors. Flat-panel Ameristar doors with Thermofoil skins tend to bubble along the bottom edges first, especially in galley kitchens where the AC vent blows directly on the cabinet run. Refacing is often the cleanest fix.

Ameristar Service in Miami: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

A built-in window seat in a bay window

Miami’s salt-laden air and hurricane-season humidity accelerate Thermofoil delamination and MDF swelling far faster than in inland markets, so Ameristar cabinet work here often prioritizes sealed plywood boxes and moisture-resistant door materials over the lowest-cost Thermofoil options. A homeowner in the Little Havana area called us about Ameristar repair in Hialeah after Thermofoil cabinet doors peeled along the bottom edges after two summers of humidity. Our crew pulled the door fronts, found the MDF boxes were still solid, and refaced the kitchen with new soft-close shaker doors, steel glides, and a Cambria quartz top. That job cost a fraction of a full gut. We also sealed the toe kick and under-sink cabinet base to slow the next round of moisture wicking. That is the kind of Miami-specific judgment that does not show up on a generic service page.

This page exists because Ameristar’s specific failure points, Thermofoil delamination, MDF box swelling, and hardware corrosion, map directly to Miami’s climate. Homeowners here should not have to guess whether to reface or replace. Our crews can tell you which one makes sense within the first visit.

Ameristar Models & Products We Service in Miami

We work on Ameristar Thermofoil and laminate door styles, both raised-panel and slab fronts. That includes Ameristar all-plywood and MDF-core framed cabinet boxes, ready-to-assemble (RTA) base and wall units, and the shaker and flat-panel door profiles sold through kitchen showrooms across Miami. For parts, we source Ameristar-compatible OEM hinges, drawer glides, and door fronts where they are still available. When OEM parts are discontinued or backordered, we use high-quality aftermarket hardware, including Blum-style soft-close hinges and steel full-extension glides. The goal is a cabinet that works better than it did when new, not just a repair that gets you through the year.

We stock common aftermarket hardware for fast turnaround on Miami jobs. Door fronts and matched Thermofoil skins take longer since they are usually ordered to match the existing run.

Here are the price ranges Miami homeowners should expect for the Ameristar work we handle. These are written line-item ranges, not verbal ballparks. Your written price is delivered before any work starts, and it does not change once the job begins.

Service Price Range
Cabinet Installation $4,720 – $15,340
Countertop Installation $2,360 – $7,670
Full Kitchen Remodel $16,520 – $53,100
Backsplash Installation $945 – $2,950
Kitchen Island Installation $3,540 – $11,800

What drives the cost on an Ameristar kitchen job in Miami is the condition of the boxes. If the MDF cores are sound, refacing saves real money. If they are swollen, replacement is the honest answer.
