ActiveYards Bathroom Remodeling: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide

ActiveYards bathroom remodeling across Los Angeles typically runs $10,620 to $33,040 installed, depending on the scope of the remodel, the materials you choose, and the condition of the plumbing and framing underneath. Most ActiveYards bathroom rebuilds take two to four weeks once demo starts, and we stock the most common ActiveYards-compatible components at our Los Angeles shop so you’re not waiting on a backordered part. Homeowners usually figure out something’s wrong when a cabinet door won’t close square anymore, tile grout keeps cracking in the same corner, or the vanity has pulled away from the wall far enough to see daylight behind it.

Before we get into part numbers and pricing, one thing up front: Mason Remodeling is an independent Los Angeles remodeling contractor. We’re not affiliated with ActiveYards, and we don’t claim to be. What we do is install, repair, and replace ActiveYards bathroom components every week, and after two decades of working on them across this city, we know which parts fail, which ones hold up, and what actually costs money to fix.

Which ActiveYards Models This Applies To

A walk-in shower with large-format tile and a built-in niche

ActiveYards builds bathroom vanities, medicine cabinets, linen cabinets, and storage towers in a few distinct construction styles, and the compatibility question is usually the first thing we sort out on a service call. The ActiveYards line uses two primary cabinet construction methods: a framed face construction on their entry and mid-range vanities, and a full-overlay frameless design on their higher-end series. The hinges, drawer slides, and mounting hardware are different between those two, and you can’t swap them without modifying the cabinet box.

Here’s the practical way to identify what you have. Open a door and look at the hinge. If the hinge has two screws on the cabinet side and is mounted to a visible wooden frame rail, that’s framed construction. If the hinge clips directly to the inside wall of the cabinet with no face frame, that’s frameless. The manufacturer label is usually on the inside of a drawer box or the inside of the sink base door, and it will list the series name, the finish code, and sometimes the production date. Take a photo of that label before you call anyone – it saves a lot of guessing. On the aftermarket side, there are quality equivalents for drawer slides and hinges from brands like Blum and Salice that fit most ActiveYards frameless boxes. But in our experience, going OEM on the door fronts and drawer faces matters more, because ActiveYards finishes are batch-matched and an aftermarket paint or stain match on a visible door is a gamble. We do it when a client wants to save, but we’re honest that the color may be a half-shade off under certain light.

Signs Your ActiveYards Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing

  • Drawer slides that catch, stick, or drop on one side. The soft-close slides ActiveYards uses are good hardware, but once a drawer gets overloaded, the ball bearings wear unevenly and the drawer starts to sag. Left long enough, the slide pulls its screws out of the cabinet side and strips the holes.
  • Cabinet doors that won’t stay aligned. Framed ActiveYards cabinets rely on the hinge screws staying tight in the face frame. Los Angeles homes move – seasonal humidity shifts, clay soil settlement, and bathroom moisture all work on those screws. If you’re re-tightening the same hinge every few months, the wood behind it has likely split and the screw no longer holds.
  • Vanity pulling away from the wall. This one shows up in older Los Angeles bathrooms where the original installer used drywall anchors instead of hitting studs. The vanity top stays put, but the cabinet starts to lean forward under load. That’s a structural issue, not a hardware issue, and it needs to be addressed before the countertop cracks.
  • Grout cracking repeatedly at the same joint. In a bathroom, grout cracking at the intersection of wall and floor, or where the shower meets the tub deck, usually means movement behind the tile. It’s often a sign that the original backer board or waterproofing was done wrong, and patching the grout will just crack again.
  • Water stains on the toe kick or cabinet bottom. If you see staining under the vanity but no obvious leak at the sink, check the supply lines and the shutoff valves. Slow drips travel along pipes and show up where the cabinet base meets the floor. Don’t ignore this one – a slow leak inside a vanity is how you end up with a rotten cabinet floor and mold behind the baseboard.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A remodeled hall bathroom with subway tile and a floating vanity

A full ActiveYards bathroom remodel in Los Angeles runs $10,620 to $33,040, and the spread comes down to three things: the size of the bathroom, whether you’re moving plumbing, and what tier of finishes you select. A small bathroom with a standard 48-inch vanity, a tub-to-shower conversion, and mid-range tile usually lands between $10,620 and $18,000. A primary bathroom with a larger vanity, custom tile work, a walk-in shower, and higher-grade fixtures will push into the $25,000 to $33,000 range. If you’re just replacing a failing vanity, that’s a different scope entirely – vanity installation runs $945 to $3,540 in Los Angeles depending on size, plumbing condition, and whether we need to modify the cabinet for existing plumbing stub-outs.

Every estimate from Mason Remodeling is a written, line-item price delivered before any work starts. That price includes materials, labor, demolition, disposal, and any plumbing or electrical work required to bring the bathroom to code. It does not grow on the final bill. If we open a wall and find something wrong – rotted framing, leaking pipes, bad wiring – we stop, show you what we found, and give you a written change order before we keep going. No surprises, no “we’ll figure it out later” invoices. The workmanship is covered for 365 days from the completion date. If something fails in that first year, we come back and fix it at no charge.

DIY or Call Us?

There are things you can safely check on your own, and there are things you shouldn’t touch. Adjusting a cabinet hinge with a screwdriver is fine. Swapping out a worn drawer slide on a frameless box is doable if you’re comfortable with a tape measure and have the right slide model. But bathroom remodeling is not a DIY project when it involves water lines, drain pipes, electrical, or waterproofing. A wrong turn with a shower pan or a bad seal on a supply line doesn’t just ruin your bathroom – it floods whatever is underneath it. Los Angeles homes with stucco and slab foundations hide water damage for months before you see a stain. If you’re not sure what you’re looking at, call us at (803) 680-2547. We’ll come out, assess it, and tell you honestly whether it’s a simple fix or a full replacement. The estimate is free, and we’ll put the price in writing.
