Caesarstone Kitchen Remodeling: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
A full Caesarstone kitchen remodel in Los Angeles typically runs between $16,520 and $53,100 installed, depending on square footage, layout changes, and whether existing counters carry over or get replaced. We stock Caesarstone-compatible components and complete most kitchen remodels in 3 to 6 weeks from permit to final walkthrough. The most common trigger for a call is a Caesarstone surface that’s now cracked, chipped, or bowed after a bad install, a cabinet run that’s failing underneath it, or a kitchen layout that simply doesn’t work anymore.
Here’s the reality in Los Angeles: a lot of kitchens get a quick countertop swap with no thought to what’s underneath. Six months later, the seam opens up because the cabinets weren’t level. Or an overhang gets a hairline crack because nobody added proper support brackets. Caesarstone quartz is engineered to be tough, but it’s only as good as the substrate, the fabrication cuts, and the install team. That’s where most failures start, and that’s what this page is about.
Which Caesarstone Models This Applies To

We work with the full Caesarstone lineup currently sold in the Los Angeles market, including the Supernatural, Metropolitan, Pebbles, and Concetto collections, plus the Outdoor series for exterior kitchens. Caesarstone slabs run 56.5 inches by 120 inches with thickness options of 1 cm, 2 cm, and 3 cm. We always spec 3 cm (about 1.25 inches) for kitchen counters in Los Angeles because it holds up better to earthquake movement and doesn’t need a plywood underlayment the way 2 cm does.
One compatibility gotcha worth knowing: Caesarstone color numbers matter. A 5100 Blizzard slab isn’t the same batch as a 5141 Frosty Carrina, even if both look white in the showroom. If you’re matching an existing Caesarstone island to new perimeter counters, give us the lot number from the original install paperwork, or we can pull a sample from an inconspicuous edge. The slabs have varied slightly batch to batch for years. We’re an independent Los Angeles remodeler, not a Caesarstone company entity, so we can also pair your Caesarstone with other brands where it makes sense, including Cambria and Silestone for accent pieces.
Aftermarket versus OEM matters less for stone and more for the parts around it: sink mounting clips, seam adhesive, caulk, and edge profile routing. We use Caesarstone’s recommended adhesive system on every seam unless the job calls for a specialty epoxy for a specific color match. Cheap imported adhesive is where we see seams dirtying and failing early in Los Angeles kitchens, especially in older homes that shift with our dry-wet seasonal cycle in the valley.

Signs Your Caesarstone Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Seam separation or widening at the joint between two slabs. This usually means the cabinet base settled or the original installer didn’t use enough adhesive fill. Los Angeles houses on clay soil move more than people realize, and a 1/16-inch seam can open to 1/8 within a year.
- Chipping along the sink cutout or counter edge. Quartz is brittle at thin cross-sections. If the fabricator overcut the sink hole or polished too aggressively at the rim, impact from pots and pans starts flaking the edge.
- Cracking near overhangs or at the seam around a cooktop. Missing steel support bars under a 12-inch overhang will eventually crack the stone, especially if kids lean on it. Cooktop cutouts put stress at the narrow front and back rails.
- Cabinets pulling away from the wall or doors sagging. When the base fails, the Caesarstone above it starts telegraphing movement. You’ll see gapping at the counter-to-backsplash line or hear a hollow tap where the stone has lost contact.
- Persistent staining that etching cleaners won’t remove. Caesarstone is pretty non-porous, but once the factory seal is compromised by harsh cleaners, oils can haze the surface. If it’s in the first year, it’s likely a finish issue. After ten years of hard use, it’s normal wear.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A Caesarstone kitchen remodel in Los Angeles lands between $16,520 and $53,100 fully installed. The spread comes from kitchen size, whether we’re gutting to studs or doing a facelift, and how much plumbing and electrical movement the new layout needs.
| Scope | Typical Installed Cost in Los Angeles |
|---|---|
| Small kitchen remodel (Caesarstone counters included) | $10,620 – $23,600 |
| Full kitchen remodel, cabinets through Caesarstone | $16,520 – $53,100 |
| Countertop-only replacement, Caesarstone 3 cm | $2,360 – $7,670 |
| Kitchen island with Caesarstone top | $3,540 – $11,800 |
Every written price we give in Los Angeles includes the slab material, templating, fabrication, delivery, install, seam work, sink cutout, and the plumbing disconnect and reconnect needed for the job. No line item shows up later as a surprise. If something outside the written scope is found during demo, we stop work and put the change on paper before touching it. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the workmanship for 365 days from completion. If a seam opens or a cabinet door binds in that window, we return and fix it at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
Caesarstone itself is not dangerous to have in your kitchen, but trying to remove, cut, or re-set a quartz slab on your own is. A 3 cm slab weighs roughly 20 pounds per square foot, so a typical 30-square-foot L-shaped run is 600-plus pounds. It breaks unpredictably under stress, and the silica dust from cutting it is a lung hazard. If you need to check something before calling us, you can remove a drawer to look at the cabinet box, check levelness with a 4-foot bubble level, and feel for movement along the backsplash. That’s all useful information. But lifting, shimming, seaming, or cutting Caesarstone is a pro job, full stop. If the issue is a failing seam or a cracked overhang, call (803) 680-2547. We’ll assess it honestly, and if a repair holds, we’ll quote the repair instead of pushing a full replacement.
FAQs

A properly installed Caesarstone counter on level cabinets in Los Angeles lasts 20 to 30 years before surface wear or style changes justify replacement. The failure point in our climate is rarely the stone itself. It’s failed cabinet leveling, missing support brackets, or seam adhesive failure inside the first two years, which is why we put the same attention on the base as the slab.
Hairline cracks outside the sink and cooktop cutouts can sometimes be filled with a color-matched epoxy and polished nearly invisibly, though the repair is cosmetic and the slab remains structurally compromised. Cracks at stress points or seam separation wider than 1/16 inch almost always need a slab replacement or resurfacing of that run. Call (803) 680-2547 for a free evaluation, and we’ll tell you which one you have.
Template comes first, usually 1 to 2 hours in your Los Angeles kitchen. Fabrication runs 7 to 10 business days. Install day for a countertop swap is normally one 6 to 8 hour shift, including sink set and plumbing reconnection. A full kitchen remodel with new cabinets, stone, backsplash, and lighting runs 3 to 6 weeks from demolition to final.
We don’t warehouse slabs, but we pull from Caesarstone distributors right here in Los Angeles, so standard colors ship to the fabricator within days. Specialty colors, Supernatural pieces, and some Pebbles finishes can take 2 to 3 weeks. We’ll give you the real lead time when we confirm your color and lot match.
